An astronaut's guide to spacewalking
Tim Peake is set to carry out the first ever spacewalk by an "official" British astronaut.
"It is one of the hardest things astronauts ever have to do" former NASA astronaut Dr Nicholas Patrick told the Today programme. "Everything has to be planned meticulously."
"When you float out it's a remarkable feeling," he said.
"There’s something intangible … about being in a suit and separated from space … by just a quarter of an inch of plexiglass."
