What is Diabulimia?
Diabulimia is an eating disorder which affects people with Type 1 Diabetes. It is not yet recognised as a medical condition but is a commonly used term within the diabetes community. Kings College Hospital, London is extending its specialist service to sufferers and studies the serious health impacts of reducing insulin to control weight. Jane speaks to Emma, a survivor of Diabulimia, Libby Dowling of Diabetes UK, a clinician with many years’ experience of the condition and Khalida Ismail, Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at King's College.
