Following the vigil in Southport, rioting broke out close to the Southport Mosque. Since then there have been disturbances in other areas of the country and police are on alert to the ongoing situation. But, importantly, the reaction of the community around the Southport Mosque was to join together and repair both the relations and the damage that had been done. Soyful Alam is a former Imam of the Southport Mosque.
