What kind of music do you listen?

this month I’ve a great responsibility to bring off my articles and after the hearthquake disaster for civil population of Haiti i wondered if writing or not . Last year the hearthquake in Italy destroyed the wonderful city of L’Aquila . This is another tragic event . My work is secondary .i hope you like .
I want to tell of my personal esperience .
I’d like writing about “what kind of music do you listen ?”.
Listening music is a good system to keep stress behind or learning another language, too.
Do you change your musical taste when you feel bad or happy?
Last summer I spent my holiday in Brazil where my wife’s parents live in the north-east and after 23 years i feel a bit as a brazilian.
Every time leaving Brazil to come back home for me is like a little die.
But come back writing about music.
I listened the “Forrò” a typical popular brazilian music .
My nephews ever smiled when I danced with my wife or my sister-in-law .
After 3 weeks we moved to south of Brazil to meet in Rio de Janeiro the godmother of my daughter . I listened …funky reggaee an hip hop rap rhythm .
I came back home in the end of August 2009 where I often listen pop music on the radio or on tv.
I like listen dance music 70’s-80’s because I am used to listening when i train alone .
I remember when i was I child my eldest brother used to listen Beatles songs collection .
Recently I have red a book of this terrific band of Liverpool.
My boys are teen when I try listening my dance music they say me "how boring your music is".
I listen their music. My youngest boy play electric bass with a rock band and sometime I say … the rhythm of this song is a re-mix or new edition of an old dance song of 70’s and after i showed the original song.
How curious is the life.
This month the brazilian godmother of my daughter who lives in Rio spent with his family a short Christmas holiday in Italy and I decided to make a personal musical text to know their musical preference.
I had 4 kind of proposals .
I started with house music an electronic syntethizer rhythm nowadays typical at disco .
After 10 mins. I changed with other genre . My first text failed.
For 2th I proposed my preferit Simple Red love songs but without success .Failed .
I changed again with….brazilian music . my 3th option was a success , a great brazilian singer and all stopped talking.
I was looking forward to put my 4th option dance music of 70’s-80’s but , we arrived to the airport ,
they were going to leave.
Result:
I listen different genre of music . but my point of wiev is that all kind of rithm listened have a common mom “Africa”.
I don’t give up on writing and studing English.
And you what kind of music do you listen at work, with your friends or when you are alone?

I like linstening to modern music which is transfered from traditional music as folk songs.For example "Expression of the third sister liu" is a very famous song and dance drama that is directored by ZhangYiMou who is also the the director of BeiJing Olympics opening ceremory.I saw it in 2007 in GuiLin and I still remember the scenes and rhythm.The most attractive may be not the song itself but the local conditions and customs long long ago.
Hi Enrico. I have eclectic taste for music. I also like oldies and romantic songs. For years I've refused to listen 'forró'. I used to say 'I don't like forró' but now I appreciate some of them and I understand that what I don't like are the lyrics that seems to be rude for me with a lot of machismo and not the rhythm that is really exciting to listen and dance.
Hello Enrico, first of all I also feel sorry about what happened in Haiti. Talking of music, you are right, these days, although we listen to pop music but most of them are remix. I like classical music and the one which sounds pleasant to my ears. I would like to say about you is that you look younger for your age and it's all because of your love affair with running. The youngsters should also have the habits you have as it's a way to healthy lifestyle. Good luck, Naheed
Hi Enrico! There is so much noise around us everywhere these days which has directed me towards loving the silence at most. The time when listening to music helped me was by learing to school at my teen age. Music has often that special efect that it can evoke our memories what we have felt at some occassion in our past. Suddenly you are in another dimension and age. Will this be possible for the youth from today too?

Adriana about the forrò , or calypso band , I agree that lyrics are very simple and popular . I like love songs because give you emotions . About my preferit sport Naheed I enjoy running with my friends during my spare time (a little) we talk and joking too. Hi Marianna music is a good medicine . Hi Enrico! I agree totally with you when it comes to music: my favourites are 80's groups like Simply Red, Spandau Ballet, Sade... and above all of them Michael Jackson, of course. My children say the same as yours about my likes of music, so I usually listen to my favourite music when I'm alone at home because I'm not very fond of the headphones. But I like another kind of music, of course. Just now I'm listening "Les Choristes" (I don't know the tittle in English, may be "The boys in the Chorus"??) Hello Enrico! Music is an expression of a culture, and in some ways, music represent how people live, what they are. In my case I like a huge variety of music and my preferences are going to depend of the mood that i could have. When i am down and thoughful I prefer the american blues or our ecuadorian pasillo.When I am happy and ready to dance salsa and merengue are in the waiting list. I believe that our globalized world has helped to globalize our musical preferences too.
Where exactly did you go in the north-east? Fortaleza? I was born in Recife, theb capital of Pernambuco, but i´ve been living in Fortaleza for 13 years, i love this city, people are very friendly and the food is preciless!!!
Hi Pilar thank you about your message. I haven't seen this film,yet. I'll try listen the soundtrack. I think is a love song .Isn't it? I put on my dance music in the car. About classic music sometime i listen Pavarotti or Bocelli . but i'm not an expert . If i could i'd like listen Opera .

Music is very important part of my daily life. I used to listen to world music. For me, World music help my eye open widely. And world music helps me to understand other peopls's life and culture. Recently I bought Turkish music CD. I think turkish folk music is not completely different with Korean's.
Hi Enrico, nice to meet you. I'm very much like Adriana, I like different kinds of music but I like the oldies. I prefer to listen to music when I'm driving. Especially when I have to drive a long distance. It helps to make the trip shorter. But I've realized that the car's noise is very disturbing. Hello Enrico, can you imagine life without music? I can't.I love to listen to the radio a great deal and to a variety of different music including classical. I was given an ipod sometime ago which I use when I travel by train from Milan to Venice;three-and-half hours of my favourite music including some of the Abba songs, they always make me in a good mood...I'm sure your children would be horrified! hi enrico, i think we all sorry about Tahiti. one of my favorite is listening music just like you, but for me the most i like it is traditional music because that remind us where we come from? and make you feel home when your working abroad. looking forward to your writing
Hi, Enrico. I was very interested in your writing and the picture. Cause visiting brazil is also my dream through the whole life! :) Thesedays in Singapore the chineses song has been played all day and all around the place It is for the 'chinese new year' the biggist holiday in Singapore comes soon. This song is composed of very simple melody with hundreds of repeating. At the first time i met this song, I seemed to be crazy with the endless song. But you know that, I found myself whistling this song when I was walking on the road!

Hi,Enrico. I listen pop and rock music,may be because i like to work with rithmic music,some time don't put atention to alls sing, but always have worked with music and i love it.
Hi Enrico,I just love music.I like to hear different type of music but for me its very important to understand the lyric.Mostly i listen to sad songs because it touch my heart sometimes it feel like the lyric of the song is saying my words.I like to hear traditional music science we have a rich cultural and musical background so those songs belongs to our origins.We are the only nation who fought for their mother toung.So music is very close to our heart.
Hello Enrico. How interesting your article is. Specially because you mentioned Brazil, the country where I live and love. But be carefull! Forró is a typical popular music from northwest of Brazil. On the south it doesn't happen. That's because Brazil is a huge country. As brazilian people say: "there're many countries inside the own Brazil." I love rock music and my favorite rock band is Iron Maiden. Bye.

Thanks for your post. My music taste depends on my mood. Now i'm in a sad mood and prefer listening calm music. Jazz I like more.

Hi, Enrico! I'm brazilian but I don't like "forró" and "funk";I think the lyrics are, sometimes, very rude. But there are a lot of beautiful musics in Brazil. I just love music; rock, jazz, blues,mpb ... is good to soul and to mind!
