![]() ![]() Women and football - do the two go together? In November we published these four features:
Students at Fort Hare We travel to South Africa to find out what young people there think about the state of democracy in their country. We join Lisa and Pumalele, two students from what has always been the home of South Africa's black intellectual elite - the University of Fort Hare. Women and football Do the two really go together? Major football competitions for women, such as the World Cup, often go barely noticed, whereas the whole world seems to stop when the men's matches are on. We hear from someone who's trying to change that. Kilimanjaro Joshua Jones was born with cystic fibrosis, a serious illness which can make it hard for some sufferers to lead a normal life. But Joshua has not allowed his condition to get in the way of all the things he wants to do. In fact, he has done all sorts of amazing things that most of us would never dream of doing - such as climb Kilimanjaro... David Coulthard We meet one of the world's top Formula One drivers, David Coulthard. He tells us what it's like to speed round a track at 280km/h and about how many men in sports, himself included, struggle with eating disorders. |
