Singing and swinging
Like many talented musicians, siamangs don't get up until late, but when they get going they really put on a show. They have throat sacs that help reverberate their calls for maximum effect. Couples announce their life-long commitment not just to each other but to other siamangs, to let everyone know that this is their patch. But there is more to their act than just singing. They swing too and have amazing rhythm. Siamangs are the largest of the gibbon family: big, bold exhibitionists. The truth is that size does matter if you want to get everyone’s attention.
