
Tuppence Middleton on her OCD
Actress Tuppence Middleton is living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Obsessive compulsive disorder is a mental health condition where a person has obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours.
OCD can affects around three quarters of a million men, women and children in the UK. People can start having symptoms from as early as 6 years old, but it often begins around puberty and early adulthood.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “I can’t leave the house without doing a certain number of routines in my kitchen and my front door, sort of counting, checking things.â€
“My worst period was my late teens and 20s. There were a lot of physical symptoms when I was in my 20s, a lot of panic attacks.â€
