Do girls have poo anxiety?

Lena Holder has been suffering with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) for 14 years, since she was 13 and later set up a website to help others.

IBS is a condition which can have a huge impact on your life and it can cause symptoms like stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation which can last for days, weeks or months at a time.

“I remember not going to the toilet for two weeks because I was too scared. I had poo anxiety,” Lena said.

Around 13 million people in the UK are impacted by it as it affects both men and women, but research has repeatedly found that women are far more likely than men to report symptoms.
