Recipe: the most tipical dish in Spain
It's only my modest opinion, but I think that this is the most tipical dish in Spain; easy, cheap and mouth-watering. Their origin come from Navarra. Can you guess it?
Yes, , in Spanish: Tortilla de patatas.
This is my last post on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ english blog so I'll Mayte -my wife- will try to show us how to cook this mouth-watering spanish dish.
INGREDIENTS (for 4-6 people)
- Salt
- Oil (preferably olive oil)
- 5 eggs
- 1 onion
- 3 potatoes

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cut the onion in strips. Set aside.
2. Cut the potatoes in small slips. Set aside.
3. With abundant olive oil fry the onion.
4. 3-5 minutes after, mix the potatoes with the onion.
5. Let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes and sometines to stir with a spoon. (low-mide fire)
7. Mix the potatoes and onion cooked with the eggs.
8. Beat the mix and put it in the fry pan. (strong fire)
9. Adjust it with the help of a spoon.
10. Left fried on one side.
11. With the help of a plate, flipped over to fry its other side.
12. Left fried while adjusting with a spoon.
Meanwhile, Urko was waiting anxiously the result to give it a bite!.
13. Turn off the heat and that's all!
Cooking a Tortilla de Patata is easy as it seems to be!. Your mouth-watering Tortilla de patata will be ready in 45 minutes.
And that's all from Navarra. It has been a great experience to learn english with the excelent teacher Nuala. I have learned lots of tips, tricks and vocabulary in only a month. A stand out experience I recommend to everybody!!.
Thanks to all people around the world who keep learning with this fantastic resource. I'll keep on reading the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ english blog and all the future students. It has been a pleasure to participate with all of us.

Instead of mixing the eggs and other ingredients together, we put the ingredients(like sausage, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, bacon and so on)inside the pan-fried egg. It looks like a pancake. I believe your dish tastes good. I will make it at home some day!

Wow, I know what I'll cook for the family next. My mouth is watering. Urko waiting for the result made me think of a dog some friends had. When they fried pancakes, the last one, which was always a little thicker than the other ones, was for the dog. In my family, where we don't have a dog, the last one was always smaller than any of the other pancakes.
It has been so nice to read your blogs. Thanks a lot,
Kirsti

Thanks for the recipe! You have added a new recipe into my breakfast menu. It looks really delicious, can’t wait to make it for my family. But unfortunately I have to wait till the weekend as I am busy with work and won’t be able to make before weekend.
The good thing about this recipe is that you don’t have to go to the Supermarket to buy the ingredients. I think these are the type of ingredients that every household will have them and eggs and potatoes are the type of ingredients that both adults and children like them too. I was also thinking that it would make a good lunch. Big thank you to your wife as well for taking the time to provide us with such an amazing recipe.
Sad to hear this was your last blog but I believe you would be around to exchange your views with us. Thanks for sharing your experiences and lovely photographs with us. Wish you best of luck with learning English. Negee

I didn't have time to leave a comment on your previous blogs but since today is a holiday, I sit at the pc and read your extraordinary blog.
My mouth is watering. I think Urko enjoyed this dish very much. My mother in law has Spanish roots, so she prepares this Tortilla from time to time. She adds some bacon and red pork sausage. Delicious, especially in winter!
Your recipe is very clear and I will try it because the last time I tried to cook it, it was a disaster.
Have a happy and peaceful Easter with your family.
See you, Cris

It was really great reading your blog posts through out the month of March! Thank you for sharing this recipe. The picture really makes my mouth water:). The best thing is that it is easy to make and the ingredients are very simple as well. After going through the recipe I just asked my mum if we have eggs, onions and potatoes and she told me only eggs are to bought from the market. I am going to try it tomorrow and will check back again for the feedback.
Hope to see you on the board as a commentator.
Best Wishes,
