Fantasia
Hi guys!
What a beautiful summer time! Today's blog I'm going to devote to my godsend! Several years ago I was on one presentation of event management, organized by my colleague Alexandr Shumovich. It must be admitted, he is a genius of the great events! As usual, I came earlier to the hotel, where presentation should be held, to help him with decorations. We'd begun preparation, when suddenly I heard magnificent sounds of the music. Next moment I was frozen on the spot!
After few minutes listening, I turned my head to the source of the music and about ten minutes I just stood and watched what was happening on the big screen! My attention was riveted on a fairyland with fantastic creatures! I couldn't turn my eyes away from such a magnificent action! And the music hypnotized me!
I came to myself, when one of my colleagues asked me for help. I was in a whirl for all day, and I totally forget to ask what a miracle it was! From time to time I recollected it! But somehow it happened not in a right moment!
Few days ago I watched the movie about Coco Chanel and Russian composer by French film director and producer Jan Kounen. I'd say, amazing one! I was interested in the sound track of the film and I decided searching for it! And voilà , as the French say! Unexpectedly I discovered the mystery!
What I used to watch on the presentation, it was one part of , produced by Walt Disney. The name of the masterpiece is by Igor Stravinsky. It's a real flight of fancy! Just listen and watch it! The music is so emotional and life-asserting, and the video is so beautiful! At the end of it I couldn't hold back the tears of happiness! Thanks to Disney and his great idea of musical visualization! It effects not only on our ears, but on our eyes!
After that I researched information and discovered that in 2000 it was a sequel to . The most famous one of the first Fantasia is , the symphonic poem, composed by Paul Dukas. Iconic image of Mickey Mouse from this part of the cartoon was repeatedly used hereinafter by Disney, particular in both Disneyland. And sorcerer's hat become the logo of Disney Hollywood Studio. This part of cartoon was included in Fantasia 2000 as well.
You could find each of the videos in the Internet, but my favorite are by great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Fantasia, 1940) and by Ludwig van Beethoven (Fantasia, 2000). See the difference! It's really incredible how drawing technique makes progress!
And now! The end!
Friendly greetings,
Jan

Honestly speaking I’m not a fan of Disney’s cartoons and movies. In this case they just took the art and convert it to the show (and to money of course). All things produced in US have an odour of money. It’s sad to see that Russian and a lot of European filmmakers chose this way.
Look around. Nowadays whole surrounding world including things we associate with art is created by marketing experts but not artists. They make clothes, cars, movies, books etc. I don’t want to say that it is bad, but it really makes me sad. I do not want to argue with anybody who loves Disney’s cartoons. It’s just my opinion.
Best regards
Victor

To Victor: Interesting opinion! As for me, I was impressed by the mix of music and video! And I wouldn’t make the difference if it’d be made by someone else, except Disney. Speaking about Disney, I like their works, they do children’s life a little bit brightly! It’s the other side of the things, isn’t it, Victor?
To Rogerio: I’m great, thank you! What about you? Honestly, I do my best and I’m happy you like it!
To Mahjabeen: I haven’t watch cartoons on 3D, but I’ve watched movies. The last one was Avatar. I was deeply impressed and I couldn’t hold back my tears! It was so affecting because of 3D I think!
Best wishes,
Jan
