A few words about me :)

Hi everyone!

As usual let me thank you for commenting my blog and sharing your opinion. Well, I think it's a logical step to write about my job in this very entry because my last post has raised many questions.

Dear Ashish your guess about my workplace was wrong. I'm not a Souvenir shop assistant I work in the media. Actually I'm a journalist. To be accurate I'm an editor of the 'society' section of one Internet edition. We write the news online. Normally we have an eight-hour work day. Twice in a month we have a night shift but it compensate with a day-off during the work week. Answering Kira's question I must say I'm absolutely satisfied with my job! You know I just do what I love to. By the way our staff is fantastic! I almost never get tired (saying nothing of my eyes).

Actually I always write something even in my free time - stories, essays etc. This is my hobby and when I got an inspiration I could create whole night! Now I'm working on the script and hope one day it'll be made into a film which I'll make with my friends. We aren't going to make our movies for the 'big screen' but for 'art-house festivals'. This is my dream anyway. So wish me luck friends!

In the process of working :)

Every two hours I just breathe on a balcony. Isn't there an impressive view?! In the background you can see a 'tower'. Actually this is a television tower that is situated on 'Kok-Tobe' mountain (1070 m). Just five minutes - and you are in a peace and quiet in the mountains.

As to my photo with stuffed animals, I just was passing by the souvenir shop that day (!) and was quite surprised to see a wolf. So I decided to take a picture and share it with you. Danny was wondering if the wild animals are protected in Kazakhstan. Of course they are! There are many species that in the Red Book.

The snow leopard is the symbol of Almaty city and forthcoming Asian Olympic Games 2011. There are only 100-120 species left in Kazakhstan.

The golden eagle is in danger of extinction. There are about 200 species in Kazakhstan. For hundreds of years the golden eagle has been using for hunting. And now this tradition is still exists in our country. Training of these birds is required high special skills. It's great art that usually passes from father to son.

What can I say about wolves? It known that every year the government allocates money for shooting wolves because they damage farms and attack people and domestic animals. Hunters shoot them and sell their skins to craftsmen and finally they are in a souvenir shop. The wolf skin is quite popular in our country. It's used for decorating floor or walls in some houses. As I've known a lot of tourists are very interested in buying them.

Well OK. In conclusion I just want to attach some pictures of mountains in Almaty that I love so much!

See you friends!!

Hi Marina, I too I like mountains. I live in an alpine region where there are some important peaks and great natural resources. The mountains are essential for the wildlife but also for us, civilized men. Water and forests give us the basic for life.
Please tell me more about your amazing region.

    Hi Marina
You are very skilled and talented in writing. I'm sure that the script that you wrote is very interesting.I hope you'll tell us about it.
I'm sorry but after your explanation and description of how the wild animals are protected in your country I got the impression that they are not.
I read it again and again "The wolf skin is quite popular in our country. It's used for decorating floor or walls in some houses. As I've known a lot of tourists are very interested in buying them". I watch the poor tied golden eagle or the stuffed tiger. In many countries and socities these phenomenons are unacceptable today.
I think this is a great challenge for the youth and educated generation of Kazakhstan to start changing the nature situation.
    Keep writing
    Danny

Hellow dear Marina,I imagine how happy you feel with your job, it sounds really interesting and appart from that the staff that works with you and the area sorrounding your working place makes me think you have "an ideal job". Thanks for the photos and explanations, enjoy all you have and good luck with your film!!! Beatriz from Argentina.

    Hi Editor,

It's really fantastic that you never get tired in your job. I envy you having such type of profession. Presumably, 鈥楽ociety' section is like a delicious menu prepared with lots of caring love. I'm also delighted to hear that you, as a social worker, would work previously with drug user and people with HIV positive. Your next stepping also seems to be brilliant. I wish you and your friends all the best for an outstanding production. If the 'art-house festivals' can shake even the 鈥榖ig screen鈥 with your 鈥︹!

I like reading your blog because you can easily present a sensitive issue in your simple writing. And, all the time, I wonder how easily you can narrate it! If I could encourage the reader in searching the topic in detail as the way you do!

Anyway, I think it's unjustifiable to shoot wolves just considering that they damage farms and attack people or domestic animals. I also feel as same as Danny does. It's a quite worrying that wolf skin is popular as decoration piece in your country, isn't it?

Thank you for the photographs. The pictures represent a clam and quiet view, which surely will attract the viewers. And, I wish if I were there! If it happens somehow, meeting a Pocahontas with the nice hairstyle (highlighted in the photograph titled 鈥業n the process of work鈥) will also be a bonus. I really look forward to the day.

    Bye for now.

    Ashish, Bangladesh.

You are really happy girl because you are surrouded with a lot of interesting people, have an opportunity to know more about our life. And to my mind when you know more than it seem to you you know nothing. Continue working on such way. Good luck! Natalya from Novorossiisk

    Hi friends!

You are absolutely right admiring the place on my photo (I mean the mountain view of course :)because, in my oponion, there is only one thing that we can admire all the time and it's nature.

Dear Danny and Ashish, I totally agree with you and share your feelings about the animals. I hope next generation will really change that situation.

In the meantime, hunting is the oldest tradition of Kazakh people. And please don't think that hunting-birds are treated in a bad way. People really take care of them and as I've already said that work is pretty hard. As I know the hunters from the other states use the dogs for hunting. So the difference is between culture and traditions.

    Hello Marina!

You are lucky to have loved work. Congratulations!
I like my job too and sometimes I cannot leave office in time because I obsessed and want to finish my business (the theme your last topic let me write here). I agree with you that we sould have some passion exept a work but I think if we love our work and spend on one free time it is our hobbi. Also a work is not one action it is collection some diferent actions and knowledges and we can study other new aspects our job. We can expand and it is interesting too. So if we can enjoy our job and develop in this direction it is not limits us and not do us "lost" for the rest of society. It is my oppinion.

I see Almaty is green city and there are many beautiful mountains near. Are you mountain skier?

Thank you for good-looking photos. I am looking forward to hearing new stories.
    Regards.

    Hi, Marina

It is so nice of you that you have written about so many different types of subjects and have given us a chance to conduct in written language.

I sometimes visit this bloog and read yours and other people鈥檚 articles and have benefited the bloogs in two ways, firstly I learn more about people and their countries and secondly I practise my English too.

I am originally from an Asian country that you can describe as Central, South Asia or Meddle East country. I won鈥檛 mean anything by saying this more than that I have met people from all around this area very closely, but the people I haven鈥檛 met very closely in communication and don鈥檛 know about their culture are the central Asians. It is not because I haven鈥檛 tried or something like that and it is because the place I live recently we so many and especially in the education area.

I would be grateful if you could tell us more about your culture and people in Central Asian countries. And lots of lucks with your film and hope you will have created the film in a nice atmosphere.

    Thank you,

    Abdullah
