I'd like only to suggest that you change, in the first paragraph, the word "novel" for "Nobel" because it comes from the name of Alfred Nobel.

Topics is realy interested me, because literature I love very much. We have a 2006-nobel literarture awarded novelist, ORHAN PAMUK, as you are now.
I suppose they write their novel in a menner of originality and sincerity describing their society, folks and inevitable actual problems of human being about that anybody do want to mantion or manege to mantion.

Your, Miguel, this last post recalled me high culture diversity of the World.

I wish to read Mario Vargas Llosa's one book, one of your recomendation, if I have time.

I am really appreciative about your comments. Thanks Carossi for your observation. I corrected the mistake. I recommend you to read "La ciudad y los perros" (The city and the dogs) The argument is more universal. The story is about the experiences of student at Leoncio Prado school. The "dogs" of the novel are first-year cadets, rookies who have the barbarous punishments of their comrades in higher grades. Every character has a different behavour: There are "EL JAGUAR", (The jaguar), he is the rude boy, "EL POETA" (The poet), he was a studente who like writing erotic stories, "EL ESCLAVO" (The Slave), the silly of the group. It's a fantastic novel, and I sure you'll like it

What a pleasant coincidence to have a Peruvian blogger of the month at the moment a Peruvian writer wins the most acclaimed international prize in literature! Thanks a lot for the information about Mr. Llosa! I must confess I hadn't known him as a writer before. I suppose that happens when you are not familiar with a poet's native language, and then, Peru is a very, very far-away country for me. But now everybody talks about him all around the globe, and I'm also going to include him on my list of must-reads.
Congratulations to you, too, Miguel. You are a great representative for your country in this international blog community!

How nice and exciting it is for a country and its people to be spoken about all over the world in all the communication means - for winning the Nobel Literature Prize and not for daily bad and ugly news.
I must admit as Elisabeth did,that I didn't read anything of Llosa.But I noticed that at least 5 of his books were translated to my language and according to your recommendation I'll start with "The City and the Dogs"

Thanks for your post!, while I was reading you post suddenly i began to collect some of Vargas Llosa's books that I have distributed in my room, I`m on the middle of "los cuadernos de don Rigoberto" (Don Rigoberto's diary). what a imagination! I love the way he describes situation in the way one can picture it, sometimes using peruvian-Spanish which gives it a funny touch!.

He really deserves this prize as a contemporaneous writer.
Besides, what a nice coincidence you being our Peruvian blogger and Vargas Llosa as a Prize winner also from Peru.

Hi Miguel! Hi Everyone!

First of all, let me congratulate you and Peru on Mario Vargas Llosa鈥檚 Nobel Prize. I know you and all Peruvians feel joy and pride. It鈥檚 really great! You have every right to be proud of your national hero. Reading books is one of my greatest pleasures, and I鈥檝e read a lot of them, but I must confess I鈥檇 heard nothing of him before he won his award. It鈥檚 a shame. Now I鈥檓 going to rectify this omission.

Concerning writing, Miguel, what do you usually write about? Any particular genre? Are you planning on doing a career as a writer in future? Tell me more about it, I鈥檓 curious because, you know, becoming a writer is my lifelong dream. I haven鈥檛 written anything yet, but I hope I鈥檒l do one day. Having read so many books I have a feeling deep inside that I can write something myself. I can鈥檛 give writing much thought just now, but I find myself thinking of some characters, plots, and such very often. I can see myself as a writer in my mind鈥檚 eye. But maybe it鈥檚 nothing more than my wild imagination, or ambitions. I don鈥檛 know for sure whether I鈥檓 gifted by Nature or God with such a talent. And I guess I won鈥檛 know unless I try. So I鈥檓 going to give it a try.
Miguel, if you are serious about writing I wish you to become as successful a writer as Mario Vargas Llosa.

I麓ve read and enjoyed very much two of Mario Vargas Llosa novels: The Feast of the Goat and Captain Pantoja and the Special Service. His writing style is very pleasant and his books are quite hard to put down :-).

I have read several books by Vargas Llosa and I liked a lot. I am very happy with the award they have given

I think all the Spaniards are also very proud for the Prize. For us, Vargas Llosa is an old friend.

I've read six or seven of his books, since Pantale贸n y las visitadoras from Travesuras de la ni帽a mala.

I expected for a long time this Prize. Congratulations to Peruvian people and Spanish readers.
