Hi Leila,
Actually, I feel cold after your snowy story, but we got used to see this in Europe, to be specific not all of EU, but most of its countries.
I am not sure if you really like this kind of weather or not, however I like it as I haven't been in snowy place all my life. I hope to visit your beautiful country one day and enjoy skiing.
Finally, I hope if you and all your family are ok and in a good health, by the way, send my regards to your husband and try to help him.

I have to confess that I wouldn't be able to live in extreme cold condition.

It's so good to hear from you and what lovely pictures! I send my best wishes to your father and may he be healthy again. The picture of a snow covered road can't ever make me imagine that it is a road. Over here, it snows in the northern parts of Pakistan and it snows so much that the road communication is open only for six months when it's summer.

So glad to "meet" you! I wasn't part of the community in 2007 - so - little did I know that Leila, the commenter from northern Finland, had been a blogger before... I'm getting constantly surprised this month. Well, we Austrians look with admiration and envy to Finland - especially when the results of the "PISA" studies are publicised every 3 years or so. People here invariably ask themselves how it can be that Austrian students rank so low in those tests in comparison with many other countries, and in particular Finland. At the same time conservative forces here are totally unwilling to accept any major changes to the educational system...
I personally associate Finland with fond memories of a round trip I took at a time when I was young enough to get an interrail ticket and old enough to be allowed to travel on my own... Phantastic, apparently largely unspoilt landscapes come to mind, and - to fit the cliché - elk on the rails forcing the train to stop for a little while.

I was happy to read you fancied my short introduction to Finnish winter.
It is cold again, about -20 degrees, wonderfully bright day. We are leaving our darkest days behind us, and now onwards days are getting longer and longer so that during the midsummer the sun stays up in the sky all night and day.

I recommend that if you are learning English, this site is one way to keep in touch with your studies. In particularly teacher´s blogs are always full of good advice and modern vocabulary. And alas, we students also have a story tell as Bing Cheung mentioned; travel around the world.

Your wintry photos are always so nice. Thankfully, it is not -20 degree here. However, the winter has returned to Slovakia. It is snowing right now and a thin white layer has already covered the ground.

Hi Leila, thanks for your nice story & pictures... I was just imagining those heavenly scenes..., every where - every thing is white!! In our country, snow fall never happens(may be it last happened thousands of years ago in Ice Age)so when I see it in TV or on picture, I amused. we have a rainy season(one of total 6 seasons). In rainy season, sometimes it rains for days without stopping, at that time people love to stay home, pass their time by watching movies, reading books or simply listening melodies- especially "tagor" song.(we have lots of songs & poems on rain). Oh, another thing, there are some lovely foods that we arranged especially at rainy days. So, Leila, I am very much interested to know about how you people love to pass your snowing days at home when you can't go outside....

Give my regards to your Father. Your husbanded looks very jolly minded & that's a nice picture, I think you took that one, then you are a good photographer. It's sure You both have passed lots of lovely days...& hope lots of lovely days are ahead...

First of all thank you Anita and Arnob Sharif for your comments also, yes I have taken the photo where my husband is clearing the snow from our roof top. The snow had to be cleared as it was covering the chimney pipe and also the air conditioning pipe next to the chimney in the picture.

Many accidents happen every year when people are doing the snow work on roofs. As a matter of fact my husband had a safety rope around him, furthermore it was attached to my waist along with I was standing on the other side of house on the ground in case my husband would slip. My weight would stop him slipping all the way down, or the worst case I would have been pulled up in the air!

Arnob Sharif usually the snow fall means that children and adults also can do lots of outdoor activity such as playing, skiing, ice-skating or just enjoy the weather, if it is not too cold as it is today for example being over – 20 degrees Celsius. Outdoor workers such as builders do not have to work outside all day in these conditions. It was interesting to read what you do when it rains days on end.

Dear Leila, the mate! Good to have one in the Oulu land. It´s wonderful to look and read you again! I am sory about your father, however, his army photo is great. I suppose he might be proud on Katrin, another horse rider in the family. Greetings to her, too! As ever, I like the picture of your husband Pekka, though, the invisible image of you being tied on the rope at the other side of the roof brought a bright smile on my face! Yes, the life in there needs surely twoo beings tied firmly. So, I can´t believe you are 61, that´s nothing meaningful at you. I think cleaning snow with a shovel is so hectic and it requires powerful arm and using a safety rope was so necessary . In my teenage sometimes I used to clean the snow in our yard and after that my arms always hurt :(
