Greetings to you all!

I hope you all had a merry Christmas. I have enjoyed some time with the family, opening presents, eating to excess (overeating) and watching TV. I got a new camera for Christmas so hopefully I will be able to some post some new photos on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Learning English website soon.

One of the Christmas traditions we experienced was a pantomime. It was the story of Mother Goose. I say story but actually the show was 10% story, the rest of it was singing, dancing and fooling around! It was all good fun.

Thanks for your all good wishes on the blog and I am pleased that Seva thinks I make a great Father Christmas (or Santa Claus).

I assume Chrystel (our Student Blogger) must be having a great time because I have had no update from her yet. I'm looking forward to hearing about her Christmas in Paris. However, there's not much time as there will be a new Teacher Blogger in the New Year.

Of course, New Year is a time for making resolutions (or promises) to make changes to your life. I am going to eat less sweet things, drink less coffee and to start running. Please wish me luck!

How will you see the New Year in? In London, we have an amazing firework display which is launched from one of the city's famous landmarks, the London Eye, as you can see (this is not my photos! Credit: AP)

2012 is going to be an amazing year for our city because we will be hosting the Olympics.

I hope you have a good New Year and an amazing 2012 too.

Finally, thanks for trying the homework. Here are the answers to last week's homework:

1. I put decorations on the Christmas tree.
2. At Christmas some people go to church.
3. Father Christmas lives in Lapland.
4. I like to buy my presents at the shopping centre.
5. I can hear footsteps on the roof, maybe Rudolph the reindeer has landed!

For your next homework, why not write your New Year's resolution on the blog. Good luck and good bye got now.

    Hi Rob,
I can see you have enjoyed your Christmas, that's great! I'm enjoying and taking advantage of my holidays. I still have a week left! I'm resting, spending time with my family, buying presents and watching films, in English! However, I don't have my presents yet, because we receive them on 6th January ( the three Magi)
I haven't still thought about my resolutions, but I think that the most important one is to study more English if I want to pass my exam in June. I should eat less sweet and do sport. I hope I will achieve my resolutions.

    Thanks for everything
    Bye, Maria

Well, as the new year is around the corner, I make the resolutions that I hopefully keep, like starting running and doing exercise even at home. And more important, I must eat less junk/ fast food, so as to relieve my acne.

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for your good wishes......... yes we enjoyed alot chritsmas with our friends and near dear, and as well we are going to make the planning for celebrating new year eve..Mostly i used to enjoy new year Party hangout with my frinds. hopefully i would do same in 2012 but this time in new city with new style & old friends............and of cours i will take resulation and defently try to follow them becouse i usually make the resulation to break them.

Mr Rob, Sorry to say that, i think you would not fullfill your resulation in 2012 becouse of diffrent resons........your first resulation is that you will eat less sweat..... it is not easy becouse on first day to celebrating new year you will eat so many sweats. and defenetlly in year 2012 you will get so many celebrating movements & you will enjoy your good movements with sweets........your second resulation is you will drink less coffe.....it also seems difficult becouse coming months will be winter months. so you need more coffee instead of less coffee......
your last but not the least resulation is running.....its my favriot resulation which i make every year as well i will take in 2012... but unfortunatly every year i was not able to compleate this resulation...becouse its very diffculat to wake up early in morning in winter season and go for running....so i think it will be not easy for you to compleate your resulation....... and i think we make resulation to break them.......so keep making resulation and breaking them..

Happy New year to all in advance....:::)))))))

Hi Rob, i'm looking forward to learn English reading and posting in your blog and watching your videos.

In Milan actually it's foggy and so i'm a bit sad. I'd like see the snow, but weather forecast are bad about it.

At Christmas i've enjoyed some time with my girlfriend and her family opening presents, but most of all we have spent out time eating, eating and eating :)
    Seafood, sweet and other...

I hope in 2012 to improve my english.

Happy new year boys and girls!!!!

    Hi Rob,

Happy new year, hope you full-fill your new year's resolutions. It's not that difficult if you are determined to do it. I have more or less the same resolutions as you. I also have a sweet tooth so would like cut down on sweets, eat healthy, walk regularly, be more punctual in every thing I do and finally to improve my English. The picture of London eye is breath taking.

We will miss you and hope to see you soon again as a teacher blogger.

Wish you happiness in 2012 and best of luck with your resolutions.

Dear Rob and all members of the community,

First of all, I wish you all a great and an amazing 2012, hope all your wishes will come true during this year!!
Well, talking about my resoulutions, I ve deeply thought about these and I have quite a lot things to improve :) maybe to many, so I ve decided for these:
Firstly, I would like to improve my english spending time with the amazing ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ learning english web site; secondly I want to improve my behavior towards my family and all my friends, I deeply think we can always improve ourselves, then I should carry on with weekly sports like swimming or bicycle and hopefully take up dancing or yoga, I should eat healtier and give up going to bed too late.Lastly, I ll do my best in order to improve chinese language.

Looking forward to reading a new post, actually the first of 2012 :)
    Hugs from Italy

wow, resolution...Honestly, resolution is very easy to set up and break up as well...i used to make resolution when I was 20+, but it has been so long time without resolution. Today, I visit your blog and I just feel as though I came back time when I was 20, lol.
Traditionally, my resolution was that I did not play game, worked harder...But now i just wish that I will keep easy by my naughty kids!
