Sophie's diary: Week Three

Over the summer, Sophie will be keeping a record of her thoughts and achievements as Gloucestershire's Blast reporter.

Sophie's profile page contains more information about her.

Week Three

This week has been so much fun, I've been meeting up with lots of local bands to get lotsa information on this year's Wired Project.

The beginning of the week wasn't so good because I was unable to attend the Bristol balloon fiesta with Andy and James, the Bristol and Somerset Blast Reporters, because I was ill. It was very annoying because I was really looking forward to it.

I also had several disasters trying to make contact with some local bandsÂ… thank goodness it all got sorted - Thanks to all the bands and people who got in touch with me, you're legends!

Hilarious

Sophie interviews Aisha

My first ever audio recording with the fabulous 'Aisha' was hilarious. I think having a microphone shoved in your face really affects you, I have two versions of their thoughts about Wired which I'm going to put together - some serious editing is needed there, I should really have been more helpful with the whole thing!

Learning from the 'Aisha' audio, we used a checklist for the 'If Only' interview on Wednesday, which was a genius idea - must use it when I interview 'Heroes Welcome' next week. I also got to watch 'If Only' rehearse for a gig, very impressive!

Gigs

Wednesday night I went along to a gig to interview a couple of members of StillBust about their experience in last years Wired - I'll need to edit some of the naughty words in there! I'm hoping the noise of cars driving past isn't too noticeable as well. Hmmm, I really shouldn't have pointed that out, because now everyone is blatantly going to listen out for it!

Also took some kewl photos of 'If Only'. My camera ran out of charge just as I began taking the photosÂ… luckily I had a spare on hand! For one of the photos, they attempted to climb a wall, then realised that there was barbed wire at the top!

Think I've also sorted out the next couple of weeks articles, but you're gonna have to come back to find out what they areÂ…
