A
couple of years back, as a desperate attempt to escape having
to go out at school lunchtimes, Ben Atkinson decided to learn
the Bass guitar, so he could stay in and jam with friend and
fellow music lover Chris Seymour.
The
line-up soon developed, with Chris Cheal and Tom Galpin joining
them on the guitar and drums. From such humble beginnings,
the band started getting serious, looking for gigs. They were
a hit playing numerous gigs in The Pig Inn The City, The Welsh
Harp, and playing a set at The World Mountainboard Freestyle
Championships!
Unexpectedly,
Chris Cheal left, but being a band strong enough to move on,
they found Jack Ogden who proved to be perfect. This new addition
helped the band further define their style - a mixture of
melodic metal/punk/rock. This style was also influenced by
artists they enjoy listening to, such like - Reuben, Killswitch
Engage, Dizzee Rascal, Skankt and Thrice.
Hit
by another catastrophe, Tom Galpin left, due to work commitments,
but Heroes Welcome soon found a new drummer, Adam Jondelius,
a "Swedish violent drummer", who blended in nicely!
Heroes Welcome hope to carry on this early success in the
future.
