Emma and
I are off to gai Paris. This is not a wine-tasting trip nor a chance
to indulge in French food at its finest (although both of these may
well be considered during the course of the visit), but rather to
bring you all the details of the Gloucester versus Stade Français
rugby match.
The
big match
Yes,
in case you weren't aware, Gloucester are playing Stade Français
in Rugby's Heineken Cup on Saturday 23rd October 2004 in Paris!
This is the top European club competition in the sport, which will
decide who wins the title of European Champion, therefore it's essential
that we're there to bring you all the action.
You'll
be able to listen to the game live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire
(104.7FM and 1413AM) or from our completely free live commentary
web stream [more
information].
Being
relatively new to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire team, and knowing
next to nothing about sport, I was enlisted to go on the sole basis
of my French speaking skills. Emma's French does not extend beyond
'can I buy a pound of apples?', which, it was decided, might not
be the best line of attack for an initial interview with the Captain
of the opposing side.
Eurostar
Emma
(pictured right) and I have packed our bags (and her phrase-book)
and will be waving 'au revoir' to Gloucester on Thursday 21st October.
We'll be taking the Eurostar and arriving at la Gare du Nord at
4pm. Keep your eye on this web page to read regular updates of our
trip to Paris with pictures!
