Spiders with Rosie: creepy-crawly Innuendo Bingo with Steve Backshall

24 May 2016

Steve came in for much more than a soaking

It's not normal for Scott to be more nervous than the Innuendo Bingo guest but...

"Who are these clowns?" - Scott Mills faces his biggest, hairiest fears

Steve: Way back when we were on Strictly together, I remember you saying that you have a bit of a fear of one type of animal and I promised to help you get over that fear and I could actually have you with a spider in your hand.

It's just classic case of scared person holding a spider, here.
Chris

Scott: But now they're presented in front of me, I'm not so sure. Who are these clowns?

Chris: Why have you doubled up?

Steve: I wanted to give this one a go. This is the Goliath Bird-Eating Spider, the largest type of spider found on earth. They will kill small rodents, birds-

Scott: DJs?

Steve: Snakes. It's a big one.

Scott: Why would you want to put that in your hand, ever?

Steve: Because they're incredibly beautiful animals but I think we should start with this beauty here.

Scott: Can we not?

Steve: I think we should. Scott, why don't you come over?

Scott: Where's the one called Rosie?

Steve: This one's Rosie right here. She's a Chilean Rose and she's about eighteen years old, so she's a real beautiful old girl.

Scott: Oh no, Steve. I can't do it, I can't.

Chris: It's just classic case of scared person holding a spider, here.

"Ok it's on my hands now, that's good."

Despite Steve reassuring Scott that Rosie "cannot and will not" kill him, he wasn't keen.

Fears not exactly conquered, maybe

All's well that's quickly removed from your hands, eh?

Looks like Steve may have more phobia-curing work here:

If terrifying Scott wasn't enough, Steve went on to completely drench Chris at Innuendo Bingo
