Caroline Nokes MP: “51% of the population should be a priority”
Caroline Nokes MP has told Naga Munchetty that a “dramatic prioritisation” is needed within women’s healthcare.
Neither the MRC (Medical Research Council) nor the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) currently ring-fence funding for research into women’s health issues.
“We know that when you shut women out of the decision-making process, you get bad decisions,” she said, “The things that impact women get overlooked”.
“There has to be a push to make sure that we recognise that 51% of the population matters”.
