Autistic burnout: ‘I would drive home crying’
Nikki Butler runs online training courses for female entrepreneurs who, like her, are autistic and have ADHD.
She explained how her autism and ADHD caused her to burn out and what effect it had on her.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “I wasn’t communicating with friends, my house was a mess. The only thing I had capacity for was to go to work but I would drive home crying.â€
“It took me a year to get to a point that I felt like I could start interacting with people again.â€
