Neurodivergent basketball team: 'There's absolutely no judgement'
Ten-year-old Darcey has dyspraxia and struggles with motor skills. But this hasn't stopped her from joining the Salford Knights inclusive basketball team. The team is run by DoSports UK, who aim to get more neurodivergent and disabled children into sports.
"They take things slow, they don't rush you" Darcey told 5 Live Drive. "It's fun that it's so relaxed."
Darcey's mum Colette says playing with the team has boosted Darcey's confidence in a way that sports in school might not be able to.
"In other teams, you might get a bit of stick if you don't score. Here, there's absolutely no judgement."
Darcey finished with an inspiring message to other neurodivergent kids looking to get involved with sport - "Try your hardest and never give up."
