Protecting yourself after autistic burnout
Shelley is late diagnosed autistic and ADHD - she spoke to us about how she protects herself from burnouts.
She explained how she feels bad about not putting clean clothes away after doing a wash, adding "I had this shame spiral about it".
But she says she checked herself and thought, "If I'm living out of a basket of clean clothes for two weeks then that's what I'm doing and that's fine".
She admitted doing this gave her some "energy back" by removing "unnecessary tasks".
