Can a bad night’s sleep impact your IBS?
Kirsten Jackson, an IBS dietician, says that sleep - a topic rarely talked about in regards to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, can actually improve or worsen someone’s IBS symptoms.
She said how surprised she is that very few people think that sleep and gut issues are linked.
"It almost like we're obsessed with the supplement or the crazy diet - but something as simple as sleep can have a huge difference", she said.
Kirsten mentions changes like using an eye mask, blackout blinds, or going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day, all help to keep your gut healthy and happy.
