Vicky Pattison tells Naga Munchetty about the relief she felt when she was finally diagnosed with PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) after years of struggling with the effects of the condition.

PMDD causes a range of emotional and physical symptoms every month during the week or two before your period. It is sometimes referred to as 'severe PMS'.

Speaking to 5 Live鈥檚 Naga Munchetty, she said: 鈥淚 felt liberation because I鈥檓 not insane.鈥�

鈥淚鈥檓 not mental, I鈥檓 not all those things I was convincing myself I was because I couldn鈥檛 deal with periods like everybody else.鈥�

鈥淪ince I鈥榲e come out on social media and spoke about my diagnosis, I鈥檝e had so many women message me that their whole life has been ruled by this and they didn鈥檛 know what it was鈥�, Vicky added.
