Love Island star Jack Fowler has spoken to 5 Live's Naga Munchetty about the allergy scare he had on a flight to Dubai recently.

Jack, who has a nut allergy, was served a curry containing cashew nuts despite asking flight attendants multiple times if the curry contained nuts.

"I said to the air hostess, if you don't land this plane now I'm going to die on your plane", Jack recalled.

So what needs to change?

"It's having things set in place that minimalise the risk and having nuts served and having your cabin crew not well informed or not using your training technique or double checking", he said.

In a statement Emirates Airlines said: “We are sorry to hear of Mr Fowler’s experience and our teams on ground are providing him with all possible assistance. The safety and health of our customers is taken very seriously. While Emirates aims to cater to customers with specific needs by offering a variety of special meals that cover medical, dietary, and religious requirements, we cannot guarantee a nut-free in-flight environment. We urge travellers with dietary or other medical requirements to check our website and consult their doctor before travel".
