Prue Craven, who lives in Melbourne in Australia, was a successful recipient of a live womb transplant in March 2023 and welcomed her daughter Rose a year later.

MRKH, or Mayer-Rokitansky-K眉ster-Hauser syndrome, is a rare condition that means a woman is born with ovaries but no womb. It affects around 1 in every 5,000 women.

Globally, around 50 babies have been born thanks to womb transplants.

She told Naga Munchetty that she never could have imagined carrying a child one day because she had no uterus.

Prue also shares how she felt when she had a period for the first time in her life, saying: 鈥淚 felt whole for the first time in such a long time. I can鈥檛 describe how it was to finally feel like I fit in with everybody else.鈥�
