PCOS: ‘I was told I might not be able to have children’
PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, affects at least 1 in every 10 women and is one of the leading causes of fertility problems.
Rachel Morman suffered for 10 years before finally being diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 24.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “The ultrasounds was kind of the definitive diagnoses of PCOS and then I got told to go away, it might be difficult for me to have children but to come back when I’m ready.
“I’d always wanted to have kids, and I was told I might not be able to have them but when I’m ready to come and they might be able to help me.
“The bottom fell out of my world. I was devastated.â€
