Up in the sky
Hello everybody!
At the end of this week I'm going to visit Spain. And I'm very exciting of it! I'm sure it'll be a great adventure! I suppose to cross the whole country! I expect to fall in love with it! But firstly, the flight from Sofia to Madrid is in store for me! The truth is that I adore flying!
Every time up in the sky, I feel like I'm in heaven! There is a different life! May be it's because of overcoming gravity, but something changes in me and my body trembles with ecstasy. The Earth seems clearly visible, you see those squares in different green, brown and blue colors and don't think of kilometers' distance. It seems like a map, look!
And then the aircraft ascends and next moment you find yourself in the clouds! Few seconds more and you're already above them and only the white sun shines in front of you!
I'm always amazed of inconceivable views of the sky and clouds. Each time they appear in incredible form and density.
But not long ago I heard another viewpoint of flying. One of my friends told me that he doesn't like flying, because usually you waste a lot of time at airports, sitting in the aircraft always next to the fat guy and always having kids in the back which start crying during take off. In his opinion the flight itself is rather boring. Especially when you're flying like from Frankfurt to Singapore where the flight takes about 13 hours. The only thing he likes about flying is that it brings you to nice destinations.
As for me, I don't take notice to all this discomfort. I just pass by all controls and can't wait to get in the plane and take off! My mind is concentrated on this amazing feeling of freedom up there!
What about your experience? Do you like flying?
Friendly greetings,
Jan

Flying with the "iron bird" up in the sky.
Well, Jan. Firstly I want to say that hopefully visiting Spain is going to be your amazing trip. Hope you enjoy it. My dream is to visit Europe, and traveling on part of it. Of course with my backpacker style...
Now talking about flying, I'm gonna tell you my feeling about it. I like flying, when it doesn't take long long time at the sky. And I like flying at night, so that I can sleep on my seat.
But, some things that perhaps will make me boring of flying.
First, taking too long time to fly. Such as my flight from Singapore to Tokyo which took about 8 hours. It was just drive me crazy. I couldn't sleep at all, there's nothing I could do in the very narrow seat. What to do inside the aircraft? Even if you want to take a short walk around the aircraft to relax your legs, people will look at you so weird hahaha... But at least as my experience, if you got the good airlines which providing some entertainment privately at your seat such as movie, song, or news from some countries, then it's gonna be worth it to fly in a long time. But if you just have to sit down then sleeping, then it's gonna be so horrible.
Second, you need to queue up about 1 hour before boarding for domestic flight, and 2 hours for international flight. It's just so boring and wasting time. I usually take my time in a sightseeing and eating at the airport. Or surfing the net, or perhaps shopping if the airport is as magnificent as Changi airport of Singapore. Then queuing and waiting for the next flight (or transfer) will be boring no more.
So, Jan... I think that I definitely agree with your friend's opinion that the only thing I like about flying is that it brings me to nice destinations. Particularly to the place that we never visit before. Then it's gonna be a great journey that we have in our life.
Great work, Jan..
have a nice trip in Spain... :)

I鈥檓 flying to Moscow a day later. It would a business voyage. I have to get up too early, at four o鈥檆lock in the morning, and this perspective does not enjoy me.
Do you know, I fear of heights but I love mountains and love to fly. I don鈥檛 fly often, about three or four times a year. Once I filed by tram飦 ! Please don鈥檛 laugh. It鈥檚 awful. It was a hallucination after drags when I was a student of Art College. A lot of young people especially in this profession try harmful things. It鈥檚 really terrible.
And I can fly plane, wings, or drugs. I often fly when I鈥檓 asleep. In my dreams I can go high in a sky almost in a cosmos. I know how to rule, how to move myself up and down, to turn right or left. It鈥檚 funny. I remember all my flights.
To say honestly, I prefer sea trips.
Have nice journey!

As for me, I like flying too. I remember that during my first flight, I felt myself as though in fairy tale - it was so wonderful outside :) And, of course, it's strange, when you see nothing but clouds for some hours, and then find yourself in another country.
By the way, today is birthday of one of my favourite authors - Antoine de Saint-Exup茅ry, who was a pilot and wrote many marvellous books about his experiences, and also fairy-tale "The little prince". I think it's a good idea to read his books about flights - magical or not - during your flight.
Good luck - and thanks for your blog!
Liza, Moscow
