Just to let you know, I worked on Sony Music Entertainment Brasil (Its a recording company.)for 12 years. I saw lots of singers to "born" during this time. Artist like Daniela Mercury (Region Singer from Bahia (one of Brasil's state)); Skank and Cidade Negra (Group of rock and pop rock); and some of Country singers, as well.

Also, I saw consagrate singers like Roberto Carlos and a very good singer like MARINA LIMA, that i like very much.

I have a friend that works on Jobim Music Publishing company., the publishing of Tom Jobim's music, one of the most important song writers of Brazil.

I will talk about it, too. Certainly.

November, as a rule, is the dullest month at my place: lack of the sunshine, the nasty wet weather for the most part, cold winds and such. As a consequence I’m sleepy all the time and feel blue (the syndrome of so called autumn depression). But the minute I saw that you are going to be with us during this month I realised that things are going to be much better now. Your appearance here uplifted my spirits markedly. I hope that being as friendly and optimistic as you are you will be like a sunbeam for me. Good start! Good luck with writing and everything else.

Dear friend Dommi, I know that there are lots of regime of goverment and i really respect each of them, but, yes I believe that if you have a chance to choose the leader, you have a direct responsibility about your own choose, and you can charge it to your leader. If there is no responsibility on this leader you can change him or her, on the next election.

In fact, the main thing is the power of choose what you want to your country from the proposals of each candidate. The winner is chosen with 50% plus 1 vote. Directly... I don't know if the best way, but the most interesting thing is the power of each Brazilian, do you remember. The same size, the same weight. My vote is the same of my own actual president or other person. I'm not concerned about voting, i'm just try to clarify our politics process.

If you have others curiosities about this matter, please let me know. It will be a pleasure to clarify it.

Well, here is almost summer and it's very hot. We have "blue" too, but blue sky. We have a kind of special time called Summer time. The day longer than the oficial time. Just a type of economy of eletric energy. We use the "sunshine" more than on other places (^_^). It's very good. I'm about to finish my job, and i can go to beach if i want. I prefer to run to my house and after that to get my daughter on school.
Today, my footbal team has a important game and i'll show it by tv.

It´s a pleasuere to have you as a blogger here! :) I like your blog and the information about Brasil. I am going to Brasil in August 2011 for a month and I have started to learn Portuguese. I have also been learning English for more than 3 years, which is my passion in the last time.
A short note to the presidential event: it is a very interesting moment for the Brasilian nation to have a femal president and a democrat! It is a new chance to rethinking in few areas. I have observe this country a little more carfully and in all cases i like this country very much. Maybe I will move to them.
Natanael, I have recently met Marina Lima´s music. It was a suggestion to listening from my friend. She is great!

I've been thinking about my new post. I'm thinking about a trip for Brazil.

I went to "Lumiar" in english is "illuminate", it's a little county city not so far from here,last month. Also, i'd like to show you "bonito", yes in english is "beautiful". The people says that God created the world in six days, and on the 7th he get rest in "bonito". So good to see you and get some summer feeling here in autumn-depression-ridden central Europe. Well, it's not as bad as that; autumn-coloured woods and gardens are beautiful too, but on foggy, unfriendly days looking at your photos of places near where you live seems like getting a glimpse of paradise. (Coming back to one of Dommi's topics - hi, Dommi!)
I was very pleased about the news of the elections in Brazil. I absolutely agree, the right and responsibility of a people to choose their leaders is immensely important and must be cherished and respected. I do have my problems when the process becomes dominated by big-business lobbies though, spending lots and lots of money on election campaigns, putting pressure on politicians and influencing public opinion in ways far beyond fairness and reason. Well, I'm not an expert but I see some of this happening in the USA and I don't like it at all.
But this month we are going to look at Brazil! I am looking forward to that and wish you all the best and lots of energy for your blogging adventure!

The Brazilian Music is a very, very good music and the carnival is great.
As i told on my post, i'm living on the Lakes region far from the Rio de Janeiro down town around 200Km, but my real house (i was living very next to the 3 Samba School (Samba is the music of carnival), they are Portela, Imperio Serrano, and Tradição. On this time, is a time o choose of Samba for next February. It's big, big, big party here.
I have to confess that i prefer i little calm music like bossa nova, but i like samba too.

We have a very good singer called Marina Lima as well, she sing a romantic and pop rock music. It's very good.

Well, i'm eager for the next post and working on it.

How wonderful to communicate with you and read all your posts. I can see you are a very popular man Natanael. I think Natanael's November will be a wonderful month.

Well it's been a very eventful week on the election front for the Americas! How are people feeling after the election Natanael? And perhaps people if any of you are in the United States you can tell us how you feel after the US elections too?

I want to know how you would like to 'use' me Natanael. Do you want me to look out for anything in particular in your posts? Is there any aspect of your English you would like me to pay attention to? Already I can see you have reached a very good level in your written English. The only things I would pick out is to watch out for some prepositions. 'I was born in Rio...' rather than 'I was born on Rio'. You use 'on' for the date. So 'I was born in Rio on the 5th of November' - but then it gets a bit confusing. If you are only telling me the month, then it's back to 'in'. 'I was born in Rio in November'. Oh - English prepositions - so horrible sometimes!

Anyway this is just a quick hello for now. I love your photos. Can we all come for a virtual visit to your beautiful Cape in spring? Here it is autumn and the nights are setting in (in other words it's getting darker in the evenings). But looking on the bright side (another useful phrase meaning 'I'm trying to find something positive in the situation) only another 4 or 5 weeks before it starts getting lighter in the evening again!

I have a lot of audio files from ��ѿ��ý Learning English, so in one of them The Teacher from Ask about English's section pronounce your name like this, Sve,lana, without 't', I'm just trying imitate our Teacher :) and only after this fact I drew attention to that English pronounciation often lost 't' in pronounce, for example, wha' instead of what, or li,l instead of little and so on. Am I right, what do you think?

Cabo frio seems to be a really really nice place to visit.
I've been in Brasil in 2000. It was such a beautiful and interesting trip. I keep having lovely memories about the country as well as the pepole. The colours and the smells are still in my mind.

I've just wanted to mention my travel to Brasil because I got an illumination rightin Rio de Janeiro during those days and to cut a long story short I gave up smoking. It is amazing, isn't ? I've not been smoking since then.

I'm going to take advantage of your knowledge and please, could you let me know where brasilian national flag originates from ?

Well, in fact I could to write a post about our flag, I'll think about it at all.

Well,The Brazilian flag was a project Teixeira Mendes, with the collaboration of Miguel Lemos. Professor Manuel Perez was responsible for organizing the stars, and the design was executed by Decius Villares. The project was approved on November 19, 1889, through Decree No. 4.

The new flag has kept the traditional colors of green and yellow, since they "remember the struggles and the glorious victories of the army and navy to defend the ��ѿ��ýland," and that "whatever form of government, symbolizing the perpetuity and integrity of the Nation among other nations. "

The first yellow appeared on the flag of the Principality of Brazil (1645), colored an armillary sphere, which was one of the tools used in learning the art of navigation, then recalling the discovery of Brazil.

Green appeared much later (May 13, 1816) in the Flag of the Kingdom of Brazil, enacted by D. Peter I. The flag was designed by Jean-Baptiste Debret member of the French Artistic Mission contracted years earlier by D. John IV to paint "the natural beauties of Brazil and the humanities." D. Peter asserted that the green and yellow represent "the richness of Brazil and eternal spring."

The armillary sphere is again remembered through the azure sphere, which represents the idealized sky. The white band that crosses the sphere gives the same sense of perspective. This is the idealization of the line of the zodiac.

The legend written in green, "Order and Progress", is a summary of the motto of Auguste Comte, founder of positivism, which Teixeira Mendes was adept. The complete slogan was "love as a principle and order as a basis, progress at last." According to Teixeira Mendes himself, the purpose of the motto was to show that the revolution "simply did not abolish the monarchy," but she hoped "to found a nation of true brothers, giving the Order and Progress all the guarantees that history illustrates that necessary for their permanent harmony. "

The stars, part of the "idealized sky" have a history that began well with the Flag of the Kingdom of D. Pedro I, to honor the 19 provinces of that time. When the Republican flag was created, the stars represented the twenty states of the Republic and the City Neutral. Today there are 26 states and the Federal District.

The arrangement of the stars should be the same as that seen in the sky of Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of the morning of November 15, 1889, so the presence of Cruzeiro do Sul, however, worth noting the presence of the cross on the flag to arrive in Brazil: Flag of the Military Order of Christ, symbol of military and religious order restricted to nobles, who financed several expeditions Portuguese sea. This order had a red and white cross on a white background and was in the sails of the 12 boats that arrived on Brazilian soil on April 22, 1500.

It's real. We have a method very interesting to make the election. I worked on the test and approving about this machine on the past, when i was a IT student (High School). I remember when i had to account each vote manually. It was terrible, but now it's very, very easy and we have a big security about this process.

Is the letter 't' pronounced in the 'English' pronunciation of Svetlana? Well - I think it should be, but many people do swallow the 't' sound in English - so it would sound something like 'Sveh-lana'

Hi Nataneal! i read your description and it was really intresting, whenever i hear that part of humanity in the world have freedom to choose their leaders i really feel happy, it is right that democracy give this chance to people to choose their leaders and hold them accountable for their conducts in office, but believe me that in some part of the world like my country government misuse under the name of democracy the do every thing only for their intrest not public intrest.i wish the model of democracy in other parts of the world to be implemented in our country.
