²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹
Hello everybody!
My name is Paloma and I have the pleasure to be the blogger of this month. I'm twenty-two and I'm from ²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹, a city in the south of Spain. I study Business Management in the University of ²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹ and in my free time English and German. I live with my parents and one of my sisters. I have three sisters and a brother and I'm the youngest. I like being the youngest because I have four nephews aged six and three, I love them so much!
I love speaking, listening and reading in English (I don't usually write in English!). I'd like to improve my English to work abroad as here in Spain the labour market isn't very good at the moment. The unemployment rate is one of the highest of Europe. I'd also like to improve my English to meet interesting people. You know, English is the universal language!
I have been working as au pair in the UK the last two summers and at the end of this month I'll go back to work with the same family. So I'll share the experience with all of you!
In this month I'd like to show you a bit of my city and my culture and of course while I'll be in the UK I'll show you where I live and some of the things that I find peculiar or interesting about the British culture.
²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹ it's a very interesting city for foreign people as it's warm and sunny the most of the year, and you can go to the beach. Many retired English and German people live here and during the academic year there are lots of foreign students. So it's easy to find someone to practice languages with.
Yesterday I did the last exam of the month, so now I'm on holidays until September! And today I went with some friends to my favorite place in ²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹: Pedregalejo. It's a promenade seafront where there are restaurants, pubs... and we had lunch there. It's a really nice atmosphere because you are having a delicious meal while you can see the beach and a nice view of ²Ñá±ô²¹²µ²¹. Every time I leave my city I spend my last hours here, and when I'm abroad this is what I miss.
In Pedregalejos there's a historical building called "Los baños del Carmen" where there's a terrace bar. It was built in 1918 as private beach, and until then there was no beach where men and women could be together. In 1920 a pier and a cinema were built, and years after they built the restaurant, a tennis court, a football pitch and a dance floor. But most of those things have disappeared. The building is damaged but everybody loves being there. There are many cultural events there, like a short film contest (all of them have to be recorded in this place) or a market every first Sunday of the month.

Yes, what you see in the sea is a bride being shot by the photographer who is in the sand (the man in black).
These are the views from "Los baños del Carmen":

These are the views from the promenade seafront.

Which are your plans for holidays? Do you stay in your hometown or do you go somewhere else?
Hope you liked it!

First thing I can remember when I hearing ‘Malaga’ is ‘Pablo Picasso’. Concerned to me it is main association with the city. As I can remember he was born in Malaga.
And as I know there is a film festival in Malaga, isn’t it?
Good luck.
Victor.

I love every country in the Mediterranean area. I would like to visit Spain some day. So I'm very happy that I can read your blog in this month!
I'll go to Fonyódliget for my holiday on the next week-end. It's on the beach of lake Balaton in Hungary. I'm fond of water and sun bathing. In September I'll go to Croatia.
Have happy days!

nice to meet you. Your description of Malaga is very interesting and complete. I reckon that you write very well in english and surely you'll speak as much well. I live close Rome, but I suppose that you know the "eternal city" and so now I won't tell you it. This summer I'm going to Cuba for ten years. At the moment my girl and her two friends are set up the whole trip, so I can relax myself, do nothing and enjoy the next holiday. I'm a little bit lazy and I prefer leaving them to organize all things. Surely I should drive for the entire trip and hold upsters into the casas or the hotels some heavy suitcases.
keep in touch and have nice week

It is great to learn something about Malaga. It is really amazing place. I had Spanish lessons in my High School and going to Spain is one of my dreams. But before it will come true (I hope so :)) I am going this summer (in August) to Ukraine. It is a package tour. Among others we will visit Lviv, Odessa and Crimea. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Black Sea.

It's me Setta, I'm sure you remember me :) I loved reading your blog, keep up the good work! Back in 2005 I was studying and staying in the Malaca Insituto school for foreigners who want to learn Spanish which is just up the road from Pedregalejo. I used to go to Pedregralejo a lot for the beach and also the bars and restaurants and have some really great memories. I remember this small corner bar at the beginning of Pedregalejo where they serve Paella on Sundays, it was the best Paella I ever tasted!
Hope to see more of your blog, take care
