VITO'S BLOG ABOUT ITALIAN FOOD
Hello to everyone!
Here I am with a new blog a little bit sad because it could be the last one.
Before to give my regards to all, today I'd like to speak about the Italian food.
Well I think that our food is one of the best things we have.
Very often when I was speaking with some foreign friends from all over the world, they had already ate "spaghetti" and "pizza". Yes, they are really good and in here (because if you eat them in other countries, are quite different) you can find them in different ways.

Today, being Sunday, I asked to my wife to make a special dishes, delicious for me and I hope interesting for you too.
Let me start to talk about "polenta", this delicious main and second course that you can eat with fish (cod) and meat. Cornmeal cooked in a special pot (that we call "paiolo") in two litres of water with a pinch of salt for an hour.

When this dish is cooked there are a lot of different ways to eat it, hot and less hot, made baked with different cheese, with sugar, with milk (to go for a walk to the mountain and to find on the top of the mountain some "polenta" with fresh milk could be something that you'll never forget).......
Anyway today I'm eating "polenta" with "tapelucco"!
..........you're probably asking what is that????
Don't worry, nothing strange, it's just meat, minced meat cooked with tomatoes and some herbs.

It's a rich dish which can also be eaten like a main dish with all your family, expecially when outside it's cold, it's snowing or it's raining. Eating this dish can't miss a glass of good Italian wine like "Nebbiolo - Chianti - Barbera".

I'm sure that some of you already know this dessert, but for those who don't know it yet, let me explain how to prepare it. Are necessary (for three person) some coffee, two eggs, two spoons of sugar, 250 gr. of "mascarpone", some biscuits and a little bit of liquour.

For those that want to try it here are some informations to prepare it.
You'll have to put two eggs in a basin with two spoons of sugar.
When the eggs will be weel beaten add the mascarpone since you'll get a smooth cream.
After that add a little bit of liquour like brandy or cognac and stir gently. ok, your cream is ready. Now put a little bit of liquour in your coffee too.
You'll have to put in a mold one or more layers of biscuits dippend in the coffee and layers of cream.
After that your "tiramisù" is almost ready.
Put it in the fridge for some hours and before to eat sprinkle with chocolate powder.
After this meal can't miss an Italian "espresso".
Ok, this was first of all my homework for my teacher (please excuse me for my late), than a topic who some readers asked me last week.
Now the worst thing, it's time to say goodbye.
Unfortunately I'm not sure to have enought time for enother blog so this one could be the last one.
First of all I'd like to thank the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Learning English and my teacher for gave me this great opportunity that I'll never forget.
I'm sure to have a lot of things to learn but I'm also sure to love this language with all my heart.
At last I'd really like to thank all the readers who sent me message with praise and encouragement, but there are no words for that.
All the best for everyone
and goodbye!
Vito

Now I do understand that in Italy meal is more than simply meal. After reading your recipes and Kyntire’s little ode to native food I’ve been thinking of start cooking genuine Italian dishes. I’ll learn to cook spaghetti "al dente" and Tiramisu. In Russian we have a proverb: "Appetite comes while eating". I guess that my new skills will impel me to go on. ;)
And thank you so much for your blog. Owing to you Italy became closer.
Best wishes,
Tatiana

I tasted polenta once and I didn't like it at all, but I suppose it was because I ate in a restaurant by the high-way. Polenta with Tapeluco look like delicious.
I love Tiramisu, but I don't dare to cook it because I'm not very good at desserts.
Go on learning English! You'll nail it! Farewell, my friend.

What a pity! I´m going to miss you and your Italy! As usual your blog is very attractive and I want you to know that here in Argentina "polenta" with cheese, milk but specially with mince meat and tomatoes and herbs and "tiramisu" for dessert are as common and traditional at home as at yours. They are delicious dishes.
Thanks a lot and the best for you and your family.
Bye. Beatriz.

It is sad to hear that this is your last blog but anyway, you will be around making comments on other blogs. So you are exactly leaving us. It was a pleasure meeting you through this student blog and I must admit that I have learnt quite a bit about your country. Enjoyed all your blogs and the pictures were amazing. Now I am thinking to visit Venice sometimes during the coming year and I am also planning to cook two of your dishes. I love cooking new dishes and your dishes will be new addition to my recipe book. Thanks a lot for giving us the opportunity to learn about you and your country.
Good luck with the future.

I had Pizza and spaghati many times and other foods you mentioned here are totally new to me. I like pizza and your remarks raised my concerns about orignial Italian Pizza. Now i miss the genuine taste of the Italian pizza. Among all the foods you described and uploaded photos above, polenta" with "tapelucco" brings the saliva on my tongue. I dont drink wine though, the desert and other food make of wine has been really attractive. Tiramisù, undoubtedly a delicious dessert, is taking my full concentration now and i would ask about it to my Italian friend.
Nonetheless,The delicious food made you the envy of me.
Finally, I would like to thank you for posting many interesting blogs. Reading your blogs was always worthy as i enjoyed in addition to gather information.
Farewell my friend..
best wishes,

It astonishes me how much work was done by you and your wife. Thank you for representing to us the diversity of ITALIAN FOOD. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert and i often use to have it in cafe. However i never tried to do it by myself . You really surprised me with polenta, i had no notion that it's usual dish in Italy. In the west of Georgia (where from I am) it's very popular dish, but we use mostly to prepare it the flour from white corn and we eat it with meat, with beans, with special sauce from minced walnuts, with cheese and i know how much delicious it is.
Vito i liked very much every your blog. All of them was written soulfully. I got much about Italy from them and thank you for this.

You know, I love pizzas. I ate it many times and they're so delicious. I am going to try Polenta, it seems simple to make and looks yummy.

I love not only Italian Pizza but also Italian football. I remember watching Roberto Maldini in world cup football when I was a young boy. And Pizza we eat as a delicious food when we've to offer our friends/ girl friends lunch or dinner, we take them to some Pizza Hut where they make various type of delicious pizzas.
Well, India is heaven for food lovers. But our foods are mostly spicy. Biryani, Kabab, Parotha, Dosa, Idli are a few among many of the foods that we usually eat in India. I'll write more about these foods some other time with details - how they tastes and how they're prepared. Do you've Indian restaurants in your town? If yes, try Chicken Biryani some day and share your experience with me.
