Hi everyone!

I want to thank you for all your comments. Thank you for reading me. Well, the issues of this article are going to be: one what is happening in México with all of those news about narco guerrilla? and two a reflexion about whether drugs should be legalized or not.

In the beginning of the government of presidente Calderon starts a low intensity war versus the most important dealers of drugs. These dealers had built a big network of complicity and corruption, so they could make their criminal activities with authorization of locals and municipality government. The big mistake of the narco war initiative was not existed the infrastructure, police corps and logistic to win the war in overwhelming.

Although in many places of the Mexican republic there is a violence climate, in Mexico City do not. It's true in place like Guadalajara or Monterrey you could find dismember bodies or hanged people in the bridges or lampposts, inclusive this kind of executions in public in labour hours. Some touristic ports or beaches just like Acapulco or Cancun have seen perverted their easy daily life due to fronts between cartels and police.

Before the war started, the illegal migration of Mexican and Centro American people was of plenty of people crossing the Bravo River but today the panorama is so different. Many of the narco pits or narco fosses have been found contained bodies of Centro American and Chinese people. In more than one way the narco war has brought some benefices for the States. Many people here think Mexico has put the dead and the Americans the weapons.

So recently information about monkey business within FBI like the Fast and Furious operation and many other hidden operations has made think of Mexican population in the drugs legalization, after all North American society has been so relaxed with clinics or hostel where you can buy marihuana with any problem. In the other hand Narco is an economical activity that raises billions of dollars and employs near of 600,000 workers all along the levels.

It is so sad to me see how devastated are places as Michoacan or Morelos, touristic centres in other time. But is not to bad at all the most of Mexican people works hard for carry on and get ahead their families. I recommend you if you decided travel to México visit public places like museums or market places they are secure. Mexico City has a lot of places to see and is the most secure city in Mexican Republic.

I invite you to give me your impressions of Mexico from what you see or hear in your News Shows or what you read in your newspapers.

PD. In the next articles I'm gonna give you some recommendations of what places to visit and a review of the Chapultepec's Castle and the Archeological Museum and of course, I am preparing an article about typical dish: The original and Mexican "TACOS" Good luck and see you soon.

    Hello Luis
Interesting issue indeed. For Latino American countries it's a big deal to cope with.I like the deliberated approaches to this issue,as in Netherlands they have. So they turn the problem to the very beneficial business with high income for whole country. So I never heard that there is some problem on this issue in Netherlands.
I know about Mexico a little...especially about your cuisine with spicy food and of course from The Shawshenk Redemption the place at the ocean shore like a paradise :-).

Im not very noticed about the narco war, however I saw one video called "children uncomfortable" made by one mexican foundation, the video show the country reality view from the kids. In it you can see problems such as: narco, corruption, delinquency, poverty, unemployment, aggression, migration, civil disorder, etc.
They request the new presidential candidates to give the best themselves in order of the new generations.

Drug... we all combat it, but it insists on invading society's space. But I always talk to myself about the use of drugs, and I think we are guilty because we consume it. I live in a small city in Bahia-Brazil, where the violence caused by the use and traffic of drugs led us to the second place in the rank of the most involved with drugs in the state. We only lose the first place beacuse Salvador is the most violent of all. It's very sad, but people look for drugs as if they could solve their problems, but we know the result is completely different. I have a son with 10 years, and although my husband and I talk to him about this subject, it's very difficult preview his behavior towards drugs.

    Hi Luis,

I find your post so interesting and informative. What I know about the problem of narco war is what I see on the spanish TV news. From time to time we hear about murders in busy streets or massacres in some place controlled by the narcos. I thought it happened near Mexico City or right there so I'm pleased to know the truth because we usually have wrong information about so many things, I mean prejudices. I think it's very important to listen to local people if you want to know what actually happens in some place.

    Hello Luis,

drugs are huge problem in every country. I think that mild drugs should be legalized, in that way drug selling is more controlled and this decreases violence and other problems too. In the Netherlands marihuana is a legal drug and I think smoking a pot once a while is not so dangerous. Stronger drugs are more problematic.

In my home town social workers gives free and clean needles to junkies and pushers, this has decreases spreading of AIDS and other deceases. The more society controls people the more problems society will get. What it will happen in Mexico if drugs will be legalized? All the drug producers will be unemployed and a Mexico state will control all drug selling and gets incomes. Maybe this can be a one solution to this problem.

    Hello again,

can't wait to hear about real Mexican tacos. One of my best dishes is self made chili con carne. It's very tasty and even speaking about it affects me a Pavlov effect. I really like Mexican food.

    Hello Luis,

Thank you for information of narco gangsters, it is quite fearful.
I have no wonder, in the earth it is so hard to do good things but it is very easy to bad ones. That's why there are so many bad people living with us in the world.
