Debut at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Orchestra made its first appearance at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms on 20 August 1962, in a programme that included the World Premiere of Thea Musgrave’s The Phoenix and the Turtle and Tchaikovsky’s Second Symphony. The conductor was Norman Del Mar (principal conductor from 1960-1965).
