Volkov arrives, Prague concerts & Wagner at EIF

Ilan Volkov assumes the post of chief conductor of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra (2003-2009), at 26 the youngest ever chief conductor of any ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ orchestra.

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra gives a concert performance of Wagner’s opera Lohengrin as part of that year’s Edinburgh International Festival, conducted by Donald Runnicles. This was to be first of a number of Wagner operas to be performed in concert by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SSO & Runnicles.

First visit to Prague for two concerts at the Prague Autumn Festival, conducted by chief conductor Ilan Volkov.

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SSO performs Sally Beamish’s Viola Concerto: The Seafarer
