Waffles Cofaidh agus Cnò-Fhrangach

Airson na waffles (Tha seo a’ dèanamh 4 waffles)
120g flùr plèan
120g flùr donn
2 spàin-teatha pùdar bèicearachd
2 spàin-teatha sòda bicarb
500g blàthach
40g siùcar gràinneach
½ spàin-teatha salann
40g ìm, bog no air a leaghadh
2 ugh mòr
100g blàthach
Brìgh bhanila
2 spàin-mhòr cofaidh, air a dhèanamh ann am bùrn

Ro-theasaich an t-inneal waffle airson timcheall air 5 mionaidean.

Cuir na rudan tioram ann am bobhla mòr, cuide ris a’ phùdar bèicearachd agus an sòda. Cuir an siùcar, a’ bhrìgh bhanila, salann, ìm agus an cofaidh ris.

Cuir dà ugh slàn ris agus beagan a bharrachd dhen bhlàthach. Measgaich. Cuir barrachd dhen bhlàthach ris mar a tha feum air, a’ dèanamh cinnteach nach eil e ro fhliuch.

Cuir timcheall air trì spàinean-mòra dhen taois dhan inneal waffle, a’ dèanamh cinnteach nach cuir thu cus ann.

Cuir am bàrr ann am bobhla mòr leis an t-siucar pùdair, an t-siorap mhaplais, a’ bhanila agus an salann.

Buail e gus a bheil e tiugh gu leòr làn a spàin dheth a thogail.

Cuir a’ waffle air truinnsear agus cuir am bàrr air a mhuin le crathadh de chnòthan-Frangach agus am pùdar cofaidh.

Dustaig le siùcar pùdair.

COFFEE AND WALNUT WAFFLES

For the waffles (makes 4 waffles)

120g all-purpose flour
120g (brown flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
500g buttermilk
40g granulated sugar
½ tsp fine sea salt
40g butter, softened or melted
2 large eggs
100g buttermilk
Vanilla essence
2 tsps instant coffee, dissolved in water

Pre-heat the waffle maker for approximately 5 minutes.

Put dry ingredients into a large bowl, add baking soda & bicarbonate of soda. Add sugar, salt, vanilla essence, butter, coffee.

Add two whole eggs and add a little of the buttermilk. Mix together with a whisk. Adding more buttermilk as required but making sure the mixture isn’t too loose.

Spoon approximately 3 tablespoons of the mixture into the waffle maker, ensuring that you don’t over-fill it.

Allow to cook for a few minutes until golden and easily removed from the waffle maker.

For the topping
Double cream
Icing sugar
Maple syrup
Vanilla
Pinch of salt
Instant coffee

Put the cream into a large bowl along with icing sugar, add maple syrup, vanilla and salt.

Whisk the mixture until stiff enough to spoon.

To serve, place a waffle on a plate, add some cream on top and sprinkle with chopped walnuts with a dusting of coffee powder.

Dust with icing sugar.
