Poietic Studio
Poietic Studio - invoking wonder through the craft of living sculpture.
Poietic is a London based design studio and the partnership of life-long friends Richard Harvey and Keivor John.
Harvey and John like exceeding the boundaries of what is perceived to be possible. Working at the cross-section of invention, design and art they make living sculptures that offer new forms of engagement between people, space and objects.
Ultimately the duo strive to invoke a sense of wonder. Honest, innocent wonder. Their work offers something simple yet exceptional by tapping into people’s fundamental and instinctive human desires to provoke curiosity, exploration and a rediscovery of the playful inner child.
The designers want to shape the future of bespoke, experiential installations as they're confident that physical experience is the most effective tool to communicate with an audience, whether that be in a commercial, public or performance environment.
Richard Harvey
Richard worked in Audiology for 2 years before moving into an Interactive Design BA (hons) at LCC. After graduating with a first class degree he was accepted into the RCA on Design Products. His scientific background and knowledge leads to an unusual approach when solving artistic, design and social problems.
Richard enjoys nearly all sports with a spherical ball, playing guitar, making things and dairy free products.
Keivor John
Keivor’s experience stems from a background in engineering, fabrication and spatial design. Whilst working with bespoke classic car specialists, Chesil Motor Company, Keivor was part of a small R&D team that built a replica Porsche RS 60 from the ground up. Keivor then went on to graduate with a BA (hons) in Spatial Design from University College Falmouth.
Keivor enjoys running - but only when it's dark or there is a view of the sea, listening to Radiohead - but only when the sound is true and magnificent, and is a keen but completely useless tennis player.
