Amber Davies is an Actor, Podcaster and TV Personality best known for winning Love Island in 2017, starring in West End productions of 9 to 5: The Musical and Back to the Future: The Musical.
Amber was born in Denbigh, North Wales and from a young age wanted a career in musical theatre. She attributes her love of performing from watching Disney films, music videos and her introduction to West End was the Lion King aged seven.
At 16, Amber gained a scholarship to train in Musical Theatre and Dance for three years at the Urdang Academy in London. Amber’s highlight from her time at Urdang was playing Campbell in Bring It On: The Musical in her third year showcase, a role that she would later originate professionally.
In 2017 Amber competed in the third series of the ITV2 dating show Love Island. She went on to be crowned the winner with her then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay. Post Love Island Amber competed in further television shows such as the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport Relief show, And They’re Off!, the Celebrity Special of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½’s All Together Now, Celebrity Ghost Hunt and Pointless Celebrities.
In 2019, Amber got her professional theatre break to star as Judy Bernly in the West End production of 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980 film. Amber starred alongside Louise Redknapp and Natalie McQueen at London’s Savoy Theatre. Amber got to meet her idol Dolly Parton through the role, as the Country Music superstar was a musical producer of the show.
In 2021, Amber was cast in the UK Tour of Bring It On: The Musical as Campbell and gained a recurring role of Jess in the final series of CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ television series Almost Never. Amber returned to leading a West End Production in 2022, in Back to the Future: The Musical. In 2023, she was the lead in the UK Tour of Pretty Woman, playing Vivian Ward.
Amber is also the host of a podcast Call To Stage, which is about theatre and has seen her interview Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Tom Francis, Carrie Hope Fletcher and many more.
Amber’s mum and grandmother are huge fans of Strictly Come Dancing and we are sure they will have the best seats in the house every weekend to cheer her on!
